Our Little Princess’s First.

Last 27 August 2011, our little princess, Maxine, celebrated her first birthday.

It was a Pixie Hollow themed party, as Maxine channeled a Tinkerbell look. We were Pixie Fairies btw.

Mama & Papa came over straight from the Philippines.

The happy parents

The youngest fairy and pirate of that day

The venue: At their house. We tried to transform it into Pixie Hollow.

Foodies!

The games

The party was a success. “Thank youuuuuuuuuuu” said Mama & Max.

NYE X

My first New Year’s Eve celebration in Sydney, Australia.

With Jammie, AJ, Cesca, Tito Fitz, Tita Sheila, Abby, Tita Thelma, Tito Ted, Seb.

First on the First of the First.

This is gonna be my first blog on the first day of the first year of the first another decade. I promised to myself that this 2011, I’ll shake all the katamarans off my body and do as many things as I could. Therefore, I am squeezing my brain now and write something.

While thinking of what to write, I noticed that I used the word “first” a couple of times already and that gave me an idea to go back and reflect on some of my firsts in life.

Iwi Nicolas: She is my first bestfriend. We were in grade 2 at Holy Child Catholic School when we first met and got along with each other. I remember, we both were part of UN program. Whenever there was a practice we would go to the school together and play chinese garter after. We both enrolled ourselves to a swimming lesson too. A bit sad because after finishing gradeschool, we had to separate our ways when she and her family had to go to Laguna and live there for good.

11 years old: Together with my brother, my sister and my late grandmother, we went to Australia and traveled by plane for the first time. During that day, I was crying the whole time, from our house to the airport. And I consider that as one of my “yikes” moments. Going back, Aside from the reason that I will be missing my parents, maybe the reason why I cried a lot is that I was so scared to ride an airplane and so nervous because at that age, to travel without my parents was so overwhelming.

14 years old: I wore my first braces. Haha I was doubting this entry because I don’t think there’s going to be a second time. Well anyways, My dentist Dra. Reyes put on my braces when I was 14 and took it off when I was 20. My gosh, 6 years! That is what happens when a person is too lazy to go to the dentist. I enjoyed wearing braces though, it will put you on an unplanned diet for a while.

AB Cervantes: I think, o yeah I admit he is my first boyfriend. I was 15 that time and things were just out of curiosity and weren’t serious. He is a good person but things didn’t worked out, oh well obviously, but we ended up well. Maybe I wasn’t ready yet and I wanted to focus more on my studies.

Manila Hotel: That is where I had my first major birthday celebration. Traditionally, a Filipina’s 18th birthday has to be celebrated grandly and so my family gave that to me. That was one of the highlights of my life when my family and friends were all there to celebrate my debut.

Toyota Corolla E90: is the first car I have driven. That was my Papa’s car that time and I used that when I was learning how to drive. I was 19  that time when my Papa will ask an instructor to come over our house and accompany me to practice driving for an hour or two and roam around Manila.

E4E: It is where I had my first job. I was hired as (drumroll please) a customer service representative. After I took my nurses board exam and while waiting for its result, I tried looking for a job to eat up my vacant time. Luckily I was hired as a call center agent by a company in Ortigas, Pasig. I was rostered on a midnight shift. After three or four weeks, my parents asked me to quit the job and find some other job that has “normal” schedule.

Palawan: My first check on my destination list is Coron, Palawan. I splurged my own money when I went there and it was fulfilling. I love to travel to different beautiful places and with that, I have my own list of places that I will someday visit.

Rose of Sharon Childcare Centre: I flew to Australia to study further and while studying, I have found my first job in Sydney at the same time. Up until now, I am working as a childcare staff in a centre near our  house. To work with children and other staff from different countries is a great privilege and is providing me fun experiences most of the time.

NYE 2010: My first NYE in Sydney. Watching fireworks at Darling Harbour gave me a magnificent feeling, family and friends were there and great foods and drinks were served. It was almost perfect it’s just that my parents and my brother are in the Philippines and that was the first newyear celebration I am not with them. However, thanks to Skype! I was somehow with them. And yes I cried on new year’s night, blame it on my Mama who’s very contagious whenever she cries!

Other firsts:

Nokia 5110: My first mobile phone

iPod shuffle (clip edition): My first mp3 player

Neo Basic: My first Laptop

23 years old: First time I listed all my firsts.

And now, I am looking forward for more firsts this 2011! :))

Novice Event Organiser

September 27 of last year, I was one of the bridesmaids of my Tita Raquel when she and Tito Manny got married. A year after, along with my sister and cousin, I became her date organiser :) We helped our Aunt set-up a surprise dinner for his hubby to celebrate their first year anniversary. They hardly go out since Maxine came out, so might as well stay home and make something romantic outtavette :)

I was the one in-charged of the photography.

Come to think of how time really flies.. Now they do have their first baby.

Trying to forte table-setting.

Ofcourse it has to be a candle lit dinner. We re-used their wedding candle.

A face saying: Quick! Tito Manny’s coming we betta hide now!

Surpriiiise! Yearight he saw us hiding somewhere.

What’s our entree for tonight? Mascipops (maskipapano foods). Just add flowers and voila! Filthy fancy dish.

Cranberry juice as our Red wine and Sinigang as our soup of the day.

Suweeeet :) I reckon they liked the ambiance.

CHEERS!
